Oct 18, 8, AZ. How much power is the platform making? Nov 19, 37 Houston, TX. I've got the 8HP45 in my F10 i. I don't think a billet pan would be of any added benefit on this transmission, or a aux cooler kit. The only faults I've seen on the net is clutch slippage on upshifts with power levels in excess of mine.
Pedaling the upshift a bit and getting back into it negates the slippage, but upgraded clutches would fix that problem I'd think. Problem is I can't find any vendors that make upgraded clutch packs. Nathaniel here in Houston although it doesn't look like hes in here.Love alarm ep 6
Fabrication of a billet pan would be interesting, likely requiring the sacrifice of an OEM ZF pan as a filter donor to carry over to the billet pan. Of course if the billet pan is deeper that would cause interface issues with the filter not reaching the mecahatronics, or the bottom of the pan.

The only faults I have been able to find with it is clutch slippage, and even then it seems to be isolated to AWD models. I wonder if the slippage is due to the increased load due to the AWD. It seems more stout than the 6hp21 for sure, what are the stock nm ratings in comparison? Almost certainly a product of the increased load of the AWD system. Stock input torque rating per ZF for the 8HP45 is nm ft.

N63 powered cars saw the 8HP70, with a nm rating. ZF is typically very conservative in ratings so who knows what the 8HP45 will really put up with at the end of the day. Overall, a stage 1 upgrade is a great option if you blow your stock turbo and want a slight upgrade without any added headache tuning, part upgrades, etc. If you are a more serious tuner and looking to break the whp mark by a good margin, stage 2 is likely the best option for you. The install cost of upgrading turbos warrants doing it right the first time! Stage 2 options are where the serious tuners should start. Stage 2 systems will put you in the whp ballpark.
